Matt Green is a third-year rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He is the rabbinic intern at Congregation Beth Elohim, in which capacity he also directs the Brooklyn Jews community. A native Michigander, Matt graduated from the University of Michigan, with a degree in History. He stayed in Ann Arbor as a Berman Fellow at Michigan Hillel before entering rabbinical school. This past year, Matt won the Be Wise Entrepreneurship Competition at HUC-JIR for his project: The Grindr Shabbat Initiative, wherein he applied the popular dating app to Jewish organizing and “queeruv.”
Matt lives in Crown Heights.

Shanna Zell is a fourth-year cantorial student at HUC-JIR's Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music. She has been serving as the student cantor at Congregation Beth Elohim since Fall 2013. Before embarking on her cantorial career, Shanna performed as a solo singer/songwriter in NYC as well as with full bands including her own: Shanna & the Zellots. This past summer she returned to Jerusalem where she lived and worked as a leader for HUC-JIR's new first year rabbinical, cantorial and education students. Shanna lives in Prospect Heights.
